Centenary Rosebowl
16th August
Obviously, the Centenary Rosebowl competition started in 2003 and is in theory an open competition, although we did not have any visitors again this year. Peter Thompson generously placed the pins in easy positions, (supposedly), and so we had a lot of good scores including a 3-way tie at the top.

* - Handicaps reduced due to limits (24 gentlemen, 30 ladies & juniors)
Here's Simon and the Captain and the gleaming Rosebowl - thanks to Terry and his wife.
Although the Captain made an excellent explanation at the presentation, here it is again in case you missed it. Of the three, Simon Bottomley had the most points on the back nine and so was the winner. Samuel and Alex could not be separated on the back nine countback, so the back six had to be used.
The runner-up , Samuel Hardcastle is congratulated by the Captain.
The Standard Scratch and handicap adjustments will be published later in the week.
Richard "Poulter" Squire shows his delight at winning the raffle prize he had set his heart on - Lavender Bath Salts.
The Captain was faffing about instead of getting the photos done, so William Squire thought we should have an official drawing instead. No doubt, he'll be expecting some payment for it - like father, like son.
Finally, its a good job that John Lynch had the foresight to put a re-inforced window at the front of Mick Bamforth's house. There wasn't even a slight crack after the Captain's beautifully executed bunker shot flew 60 yards further than required.
