Charity Open Golf Day Saturday 3rd July 2010
Charity Day went very well, aided by the good weather and a good turnout from members and their guests, in excess of £1,100 was raised for the Alzheimer's Society on the day with further donations still coming through. Through the support of local and national businesses a number of golf and raffle prizes were available to the players and as well as the traditional winners prizes, prizes were also available for Nearest the Pins, Two's club, Hidden Six holes and more.
Played as a Fourball Betterball Stableford format the winners were Malcolm and Jackie Elam with a score of 46, Barry and Keith Goldspink were second with 45 points, pipping Fred and Brian Leek on a back 9 countback. Winners of the non-Handicap prize were Dave Hirst and Jason Bates with a score of 47 - bandits! We will get them back next year when they will have stricter handicaps.
