Jackson Four
(Union Fourball Qualifier)

The Jackson Four was introduced by the then President, Paul Jackson and his family in 1997 in an attempt to stimulate interest in the qualifying competition for the Union Fourball Final which had previously attracted meagre fields. This year we had a full morning session but only 4 pairs in the afternoon - the last day of the Premier League was one possible reason.
As last year, the weather was a mixture of warm and cold, but mainly dry. Seven of the pairs managed to beat 50 net with Alex Bottomley and his dad Simon beating last season's finish with an outstanding score of 41 to win by 5 shots. David Bartliff holed a long putt on the last green which meant that he and his partner, Peter Cartwright just pipped the Captain and Barry Goldspink for second place. Richard Badrock's quest for a partner ended successfully as he and Richard Harris took the best gross prize with 57.

The Union Fourball Final is to be held at Willow Valley on Sunday 23rd May. Castlefields Tee Times are 9:00am to 9:20.
After adjusting to the handicap limit of 20, the two best net and one best gross qualify to represent the club. Please tick or cross the sheet in the clubhouse to confirm availability.
