Hardcastle Junior Trophy
Sunday 3rd July
As with the ladies, juniors may enter all competitions at Castlefields, but they have also had their own competitions since about 1970. The 1977 Captain, Harry Woodward donated the first Junior Trophy in 1977, and this was replaced by Paul Hardcastle during his first stint as Captain in 1997.
A scorching day
welcomed the Juniors and Ladies for the respective Trophy and Cup
competitions. With 4 entrants for each competition a
Junior and Lady were paired together for the medal competition played
off full handicap.
Liam Austwick was bidding to
win the Junior Trophy for the third year in succession but was denied by an
excellent round from Sam Hardcastle who returned a Gross 64; Handicap 19;
Nett 45 which included a hole in one on the 112 yard 17th hole - well done
Sam.
