Lewis Broadley Shield
Sunday 18th April, 2010
The first major of the Castlefields season is traditionally the Lewis Broadley Shield - an 18 hole Greensome competition with a draw for partners. The Shield was presented by Mrs Broadley in 1976 with a request that it should be played as a pairs competitions because that was the format that her late husband had enjoyed most.
Congratulations to Keith Goldspink and Donald Booth who won by a fairly comfortable margin of 2.5 shots. The next few pairs were much closer together with Ian Haley and Mick Wilson juts pipping Liam Austwick and Samuel Hardcastle. Ryan Joyce and Paul Hardcastle take the best gross prize with 56.
