Castlefields Past Captains
Geoff Clayton Trophy

Geoff Clayton was responsible for several innovations for Castlefields captains, including the blazers, badges, and a competition for Past Captains . After he died, his wife Barbara decided a fitting tribute would be to present a trophy for the competition and it has been played every year since 1995. This is always an 18 hole medal competition and is followed by a dinner attended by Barbara and Past Captains and their wives.
Unfortunately this year, the event clashed with holidays and other events and we had a slightly reduced field of 12. Richard Badrock upset his playing partners by outscoring them gross on the front nine and carried on in good form to win comfortably by 3 shots.

The annual dinner was held at the Globe Inn again, and as usual Barbara presented the trophy to Richard.
We're not sure if GrandPa Joe Past-It was miserable because his putting was appalling or he had just been told that there wasn't any pudding. Probably the latter!
