Thompson Salver
Sunday 12th September
The Thompson Salver was donated by Peter and Michael Thompson in 1983 and is restricted to the winners of each division, plus those with the best gross scores in the 8 medalsĀ of the standard season. With several golfers having multiple qualifications and others being unavailable, the final entry was just 12.
A touch of deja vu this week, as I look at what I wrote last year. Just 2 sub-50 rounds again, and the winner was Simon Bottomley again. The best gross was the same as last year as well - 65, but this time it was Will Tolley. Darren Jennings actually had the best round of the day, but winner and runner-up are excluded from this category.
